The MCCIA offices were unable to maintain consistent temperatures across the office. As a result, some areas got too hot while others were too cold. The variation in temperatures made employees uncomfortable and affected their productivity. As a result, the HR teams were swamped with complaints about hot and cold spots.
Byrny automated the HVAC and lighting systems in consideration with a number of real-time factors such as occupancy as well as external factors such as location and weather forecasts. This helped the organization avoid hot and cold spots in their offices and manage energy consumption.
Improper facility management led to excessive energy usage and wastage. As the size of the office increased, so did the amount of energy lost. This was the result of multiple factors including manual management of the system, improper sized equipment, poor installation, etc. Energy wastage also translated to high monthly electricity bills.
By installing sensors across the MCCIA offices, Byrny was able to create a system through which the organization could get an overview of real-time temperatures in the office. The system allowed them to modulate temperatures based on input from these sensors and maintain the most optimal temperatures for employee comfort and productivity.
The MCCIA office HVAC systems were difficult to control. The organization could not control the amount of energy being used to maintain airflow and temperatures within the office. This combined with the high amounts of energy being wasted affected transparency in billing. The lack of control also kept the organization from being able to take effective steps towards reducing electricity consumption.
Bynry developed a user-friendly digital platform and dashboard for the organization to view and monitor real-time energy consumption. When the energy consumption increased above a pre-determined level, an alert was sent out to allow the organization’s technicians to make the necessary checks and changes. As a result, employee complaints could be addressed faster and more efficiently.
People working with the MCCIA spent a large part of the day in the offices. In an effort to keep them comfortable, the spaces were centrally air-conditioned. However, the current HVAC systems did not move air around efficiently which led to lower than normal oxygen levels especially in areas with a higher density of people.
The automated HVAC systems improved airflow within the offices. Though the system could not change the composition of air, by circulating it efficiently with fresh air, the HVAC systems were able to improve oxygen levels while reducing carbon dioxide levels. As a result, people were more alert and productivity increased.
